Our urban barrels are the perfect gift for all whiskey lovers. The American oak barrels add an exceptional depth of flavour to any whiskey it encounters.
They’re unique gifts fitting for any occasion; weddings, birthdays, Christmas, retirement, and so much more! With custom engraving available it allows our men and women in uniform a place to showcase their badges or emblems.

Why Choose Us?
Each Urban Barrel is made from American white oak with a medium char. In addition to receiving a barrel, you will receive a stand, a bung (cork), a spigot, and handling directions. When your barrel arrives, you will need to “cure” the barrel (see FAQ) to ensure that your barrel is sealed tight, this can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days. Once your barrel is cured, rinse your barrel with hot water a few times until there is no wood residue, then your barrel is ready to be filled with your favorite spirit!

The success of Urban Barchef inspired Jeff to launch The Urban Barrel Company, Ontario’s official distributor of hand-made premium oak aged barrels specially designed and crafted for aging spirits and cocktails. The American white oak barrels feature an interior charring similar to those used at a distillery — but with a speedier aging process. Aging spirits and cocktails can take years at a distillery but is guaranteed to take just a few weeks or months in the small white oak barrels, depending entirely on your personal flavour profile and desired taste. The Urban Barrels are equipped to age a variety of spirits including whiskey, scotch, rum, bourbon, wine and even tequila and come in 1L, 2L, 3L and 5L options. Barrels can also be customized with a logo and/or engraving.
